Achilles tendon was torn during a squash game, Surgery was needed and a valid doctors note was provided for 23 working days due to being unfit to work. Employer declined the sick leave and deducted all the leave from annual leave, when asked why he replied that a sport injury is not a valid for sick leave. After looking into the act he was advised that nowhere in the act does it exclude a sport injury but employer refuses to reinstate the annual leave and deduct the amount from sick leave
