i was diagnosed with major depression in 2017 and admitted for two weeks in a mental hospital (FS), after i was discharged i went to my supervisor and requested a transfer back home( EC) she said my transfer would only be approved if it is a cross transfer. 2018 Dec i relapsed and Jan 2019 i was hospitalized for another 2 weeks and i wrote to my office management for a transfer and they refused to support same. the is a post vacant in the EC that i can be transferred to and i have already communicated the with management of that office and they are willing to accept the transfer. i am staying with two minor kids alone in the Free state, there are memo's from the treating doctors all recommending that a transfer back home would assist in my situation as i cannot take the medication as prescribed, once taken the medication i dose off to wake up the next day leaving the minor children unattended. My current supervisors know that all my support system is in the EC. They are weighing my case on its merits but comparing it to another senior employee's case who hasn't been to work since 2017 claiming depression. They have queried his medical certificates before. according to them they don't wanna create a precedent if they transfer me and secondly the office is short staffed. Please assist.
