Need advice please. I had lung surgery in December last year and was hospitalized for 2 months. I was healing at home for about a month and went back to work. When I started at work, I was told that I must started working night shift again. I informed my supervisor that due to my condition I won't be able to work night shift as yet. The human resource officer told me I must bring a medical certificate that I am unfit to work night shift. I got the certificate and presented it to the HR officer. The officer told me that I can not work day shift I must work night shift as well. I have been told by him if I do not comply they will let me go. I do not know what to do, I was not offered a position in a different department or told any options. Its either work night and put my health at risk or forfeit my job. I also have a medical report that states reasons why I should not be working night shift, which I received after completing occupational therapy at the hospital. I also spoke to the company attorney as I wanted to file a grievance against the HR officer but he told me I don't have a case. Please I don't want be without my job but what should I do?
