My employer paid my salary into a suspended account by his error - and bankcharges "gulped" most of my salary. He even put it in writing that the error was made by himself, but now says he will not compensate me for my loss of salary...
Last year March I had given them my new bank details, and my salary had been paid in there for months. In December the salary was paid into the suspended account by their error. Can I claim the money back by going to the CCMA?
The CCMA do not have jurisdiction to hear salary related disputes. This would be a matter for the department of labour (if you earn less than R172 000 per year) or the civil courts.
