i recently joined a company as a manager.a month into my probation i was made permanent. 2weeks after that i had to undergo emergency surgery which led me to be absent from work for 2weeks. upon my return to work i received a letter stating that im under review for poor work performance.i was told i had 30 days to "step up".2weeks after that i am being called in again for review and all of a sudden, anything goes wrong it points to me, my manager is making it hell for me at work. i feel that they want to dismiss me, what can i do or should do?

hi there,

we spoke earlier..firstly; they cannot summons you to a poor work performance review, they will have to prove that the review in no way relates to you being off sick for work.
if you feel that you are being victimised, you may follow your company's internal grievance procedure and file a complaint against the said manager, follow the link below: http://www.labourprotect.co.za/harrasment.htm and

you may the call department of labour as well should you be unsure about anything that I have mentioned.

Should you  be dismissed, there are various remedies available to you should anything happen in ths regard..CCMA for instance

i wish i could file a grieviance against the said manager, but he and the CEO are best of friends...this is a privae entity co.
