My mom passed away in October last year, before she passed she had recently sold her car to a friend she knew for R30 000. The sale was done to accommodate the other person's financial status which meant the person would pay R200 each week over 3 years, the person has made only two months' worth of payments and has failed to make any payments since December. I have been in contact with the person and they promise to make payment yet payment still hasn't been made. I currently live outside of South Africa so physically I cannot get involved but would like to know how I can solve this from abroad, should I report the car stolen? Should I wait for my mom's estate to be settled and have the car dealt with as a part of her estate? This is the last thing I want to be dealing with after my mom's death. Looking for any advice to make this easier to deal with especially since I am living abroad. Thank you.
