I was privileged to be able to work during 8 week of Covid10 lockdown. I submitted detailed time sheets. I received 90% of my salary. When I returned to work i discovered the company had deducted 21.5 days of leave. The company from management...." they do not believe any one worked"
Who do I contact to get assistance?
How long do I have claim for my deducted leave?
As a starting point the law does allow an employer the right to decide when an employee takes their leave days.
Having said that if you where in fact working from home then it can't really be said that you where on leave.
The provision in our law that deals directly with annual leave is found in the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and its the Department of Labour whose job it is to enforce and protect the rights contained therein. Therefore I would suggest approaching the Department of Labour in this matter.
