I am involved in an ELRC ARBITRATION at the western cape education dept. Does the Arbitrator have the power to fine me for alleged Contempt during the proceedings to date? ? The arbitration is still on going. Thank you for your anticipated reply.

Good day, 

The commissioner may fine you for contempt, it is a tribunal/court of law. 

They can also award damages against you for wasted costs or failure to prove you case. 

This is very unlikely and does not happen all of the time, it must be serious if you feel aggrieved you can report this matter to the ELRC.
