Hi. I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere already. The company i work for is in the process of merging with another company through a section 197 transfer. I understand that the law is clear that the employee may not be worse off in terms of employment terms and conditions after the transfer. Well, i have just received my new employment contract and even though it seems that all my current employment conditions such as salary and benefits will be maintained, it states that my Patterson job grade will be dropped by 1 level. Is this allowed in terms of section 197? To me it sounds like I'll be worse off?
