Called to attend a hearing after already resigned from employ

Good day

I was employed at an accounting firm for a year.I resigned on the 13/10/2017 and the employer agreed I can take my leave days and as a result leave on the 19/10/2017. Whilst employed I did financials for a client I was outsourced to.The Chartered account,my boss, and the manager reviewed the file and AFS and signed off. When it was issued to the bank they picked up an error of an overdraft balance when it should have in fact been a favourable balance.

As a result they are now asking me to attend a hearing as to how such an error took place. Is this possible and can they do this?

I have already signed on a new employment and even commenced on the 23/10/2017.They have not even paid me my salary for October 2017.The meeting is set for 27/10/2017,at a venue, there is no case number, nothing disclosed. The message came through via email from the office manager ,not even on a formal letterhead. What are my rights here.I am very worried as I am not one of the nasty nature.

I hold a bachelors degree,and working experience,thats it.Please  assist asap.

Thank you kindly GOD BLESS
