Good Morning,

Please I desperately need your advise,

A collegue of mine that runs the Rental department made promises to a client to deliver equipment to him on a specific date, when she did not keep her promises the client asked me to help him with the arrangements and to call a specific technician out to test the Instrument before it could be sent,

The Thursday morning the technician arrived and complained that the instrument was dirty inside and blamed the previous technician for not cleaning the instrument and PC(the previous technician was chastised for this and the job invoicing was removed from his name as this is part of their Procedure), the current technician only cleaned out the instrument and the outside of the PC (which I did not know at the time he had not cleaned the inside of PC out either), Also advised that when he arrived at the client he would see if we could use the PC and Balance from the clients current analyser or the ones that he had tested at our premises. He left the instrument and gases plugged in and advised he would be back Friday morning to unplug and pack the analyser as the Couriers were arriving Friday morning as I had arranged for the client. Friday morning the technician did not arrive, when I called him he asked if I could assist with unplugging everything and boxing the equipment, Also the lady that is in charge of that department left at 10 am from work to attend a wedding so i was forced to ensure the goods were packed. Stores department threw consumables into the computer box (not separately as per their procedure).

The crate with the Instrument, PC, Balance and consumables arrived at the client on Monday, (i have a recorded call on my cell phone from the client where he advised that the crate was in  poor shape and they had to hand lift the crate of the courier truck, this was discussed infront of the technician that was going to install and another collegue, i also advised the client to not open the crate till the technician got there so he could take pictures and send them to me so i can complain to the courier company about the condition of the crate, The technician was also in my presence when i discussed this with the client. In another call (which was on our company landline, so I do not have a recording of that) the customer also stated that he had to reprimand the courier driver as he was violently shifting the crate from the centre of the truck to the edge of the truck.

 

When the technician got to the client and opened the crate, the technician made a scene with his manager stating we sent the equipment in poor shape as the coal dust from inside the PC had now covered all the consumables and the client was not happy, Yet it was this same technician that advised me when i called him after seeing the pictures that it states on their procedures they must blow out all equipment (Which he failed to do)

 

The client was very unhappy and laid a customer complaint against my company and I was issued with a written warning valid for 6 months for Negligence and damage to the relationship with the customer,

I then discussed this with my director who called one of the managers and advised that as it is not my department, my warning should be retracted and the Warning give to the rental department lady must stay and they must do further investigations,

 

The Managers then called in Labournet who apparently have done the investigations, the results are as follows:

The Director advised the lady from Rental department had to be dismissed, which our manager convinced him that such a harsh punishment was not necessary.

My written Warning was retracted as per conversation on Friday 17th March 2017 but I was called in 2 mins later and issued a final written warning.

following offences:

a) negligence

b) bringing company name into disrepute

this is exactly the same offences that was retracted a few minutes before and now at a harsher punishment?

can some one please tell me what i should do, I have recordings of the calls with the client and he is clearly not angry with me and how can they retract a warning and re issue it immediately for the same offences (is this not double jeopardy)
