My boss classifies me as an "external contractor"

I only work 4 days a week, its all at the factory premises, and I get paid a fix monthly amount.

I pay my own taxes, have no UIF, no annual leave and no sick leave, no annual bonus and no increases.

Although I have agreed to this, does this mean I have no labour rights?

Good day

what is the degree of control your employer has over you.

If you truly are an independent contractor then i'm afraid that labour law may not apply to you, this is due to the fact that your relationship is purely contractual. but if the degree of control is of such a nature that the employer regulates your every movement then you may very well be deemed to be an employee and as such the various labour law acts will apply and your employer will be in contravention of them.I would advise that you go and see an attorney with your employment/ service contract to make the assessment.
