Refusal for annual increase because of retirement.

I’ve been with the company for 15 years, I am currently 62 years old. I am going on retirement on the 08 Augustus 2016. The company recently issued letters of increase, effective 1st October 2016, but I have been informed that I cannot get an increase since I am going on retirement at the end of August 2016.Furthermore “Management will however, consider awarding a gratuity bonus equal to one month’s pensionable earnings to employees who retire in the current financial year, but do not continue employment as a contractor, past the normal retirement date” I would like to know if this is legal for them to refuse to give me an increase?

Consider approaching an attorney to discuss a case based on unfair discrimination/inequality. Bear in mind that there are time frames involved within which you must bring the matter to the appropriate forum.
