Good day! I would like some advice regarding a disciplinary hearing I was recently involved in. The charge was that my work was not up to date after numerous reminders. I am not upset about the hearing, I even said that I believe I am guilty. I am upset about how this whole thing was handeled. On the daty of the hearing, the chairperson attacked me saying that my manager deserves more respect from me and why don't I show more respect. When trying to defend myself, the chairperson said to me that "I can take my little attitude and march out". I asked to stop the meeting as I was getting angry and emotional and I was not given the opportunity. The chairperson said that "I thought that I was very smart". I was informed that the verdict would be handed down within 48 hours. It has been 120 hours and I still have not received any feedback. The chairperson also made a recording which I did not give him the permission to do. I don't want to do something stupid that can harm my career but I also believe that I am being treated like a child. What can I do?

One can't do much until the disciplinary proceedings are concluded. Since no finding was made at the time of your post, any disciplinary action by the employer at the time without the finding would have been unfair.

If, after the finding was published and disciplinary action was taken resulting in dismissal, you would have 30 days to approach the CCMA if you believed it to be unfair. Any disciplinary action short of dismissal, which you nevertheless deemed to be procedurally unfair based on the alleged conduct of the chairperson, could amount to an unfair labour practice, in which case you would have 90 days to refer it to the CCMA/Bargaining Council.
