To whom it may concern I have the following questions; My husband was employed by an Agent the agreed salary is R15 000.00 He started 9th August 2016 He was advised they pay twice in a month. On the 15th and on the 1 st of every month. Payroll runs from 26th - 15 and 16 - 25th every month. He was paid from the 9th Aug - 15th Aug R4846.00 Then on the 1st R3037.00. He then disputed the amounts and advice them that his payslip was incorrect. They then paid him R3000 cash until his salary could be looked at. As most if the staff left he worked 9 double shifts with only one off day on the 28th August. He spoke to his employees and they agreed after meetings that they will fix his salary paying him for the sundays, public holiday and the 9 shifts he covered as there was no staff and funds due. Today 9th Sep he received R1733.00 cash again with no explanation. He understand that in Aug as payroll was cut on the 25th he would be 6 days short that would be paid the following month. Nevertheless his salary according to us is still incorrect and his employee just dont understand this fact. Hence i need help to find out what should his amout be or is it correct with UIF tax and so on. With a basic salary of R15 000 working 192 hours a month your hourly rate is R78.12 and daily rate of R625.00 From the 9-25th Aug its 17 days giving you R10625.00 Now with 9 days double shifts = R5625.00 , 1 public holiday and 2 sundays could you pls advise. He worked with only one day off most of the days from 7am till 18:00 ( he has written it off) he just wants what is due to him for the Sundays, public holiday and 9 double shifts as agreed. Could you pls assist with this difficult matter and advise what he should have been paid with details provided.

Go to the department of labour and request that a labour inspector be appointed to investigate the disparities.
