I got my dismissal outcome for absconding on the 30th of August 2016. I asked for my Ui19 to go claim my UIF and I was told I will only get it on the 30th September 2016 after my service is paid up. Absconded as follows: one day of community strike: both N4 and N12 were blocked and busses took workers back home; three days with prove (doctor certificate); Voting week: company brought to us a document in a form of name-list (attendance register) to sign for desired unpaid leave days on that week. Coming back to work I was suspended and finally dismissed for getting sick, blocked on my to work/strike as for unpaid leave I was informed for the first time at my hearing that it was a proposal to client. Note: The document was not addressed formally to us by management; not even in the Safety Talk Meetings. Information was conveyed amongst employees by employees to be desired unpaid leave for voting week.
