If an employee resigns from a company and then is re-employed within 3-6 months, does the employee commence with a new date of engagement or are they entitled to their previous service history and benefits?
I am referring to leave benefits for long service.
And if the re-employed employee were to be retrenched, will the severance package be calculated on their 1st date of engagement with the company or on the new date of engagement after break in service/employment.
