We have been generally paid our salaries on the second or third last day of a month. However, the company MD only notified us of the late salary payment on 31 August 2015, by way of an e-mailed letter (while he was away watching MotoGP in the UK), indicating that by Friday 04 September 2015 a salary payment should be made. No further communication in that regard as yet. On 09 September 2015, I asked the status, by e-mail, and the response was that feedback would be given by noon of the same day. No feedback yet.

In short, I have not received my salary payment for the month of August 2015.

What recourse do I have?

Approach the labour department to have a labour inspector appointed to conduct an investigation. Should the inspection prove that payments have not been made, a compliance order may be issued and your employer will have to make timeous payment.
