I was retrenched and my last day at work was 29 August 2014.
During the consultation process the employer promised me a severance package of R 201 000 however to date has not paid this. A tax directive was obtained despite this the money has not been paid.
I believe that this is due to my challenging the dismissal as being fair at the bargaining council.
I still await an arbitration date.
What recourse do I have to enforce payment of the severance package?
You could issue summons for the amount outstanding. However, you should wait for the outcome of the bargaining council referral as this may impact on said amount.
