Is it a form of discrimination against working mothers to comment that they've "lost focus" at work since becoming a parent? I was recently left out of receiving a performance bonus, despite having had praises from other managers for work well done throughout the past financial year. Yet at the bonus meeting, I was told I was not getting a bonus because since having my child 3 years ago they feel I have "lost focus". To say I felt sucker-punched at that moment is an understatement as my work ethic has never changed, and I have always worked my best. I now feel betrayed, despondent and unhappy.
Was I discriminated against? Is this not unfair practice?
