Overtime Not Paid - What to do?

My Spouse was recently sent away for work.

They had a deadline for the work to be completed and put in lots of overtime.They receive wages on a weekly basis hence times to be handed in weekly.

Their employer continued to pay the normal wages but not the overtime. By the third week the Boss started to complain that they were working to much overtime.

However the job needed to be completed otherwise the Employer would face penalties.

Upon arrival home they still hadn't received their overtime, the boss is now saying that they worked the overtime without their permission, how were they working 3 weeks overtime without the boss noticing if they had to hand in the times every week.

Boss is refusing to pay - what right does my spouse have?

In cases related to remuneration, the first option is to contact the Department of Labour, who will send a labour inspector to make inquiries with the employer.
