We have started the initial consultation process and did a second follow feedback session. A few employees opted for the voluntary severance package. They offering 2 weeks for every year of service. I was informed that the company will see by Friday if they can find an alternate position for me and we can meet again on Friday. If the new position is less than my current salary can they decline to give me the voluntary severance position? Can the company say that they have given me a position (with less than my current salary) and then decide not to give me the VSP? I would rather take my changes with the VSP than settle with a job with less pay?
