I recently went on my own medical aid (divorce). As I am on a CTC and my contract states that the employer will pay 50% of my medical aid, my employer reduced my salary equal to the same amount as the 50% of the medical aid premium. My salary slip now shows my deductions as 50 % of medical aid and that the company pays the other 50% . Is this legal. Can the company reduce my salary by 50% of the medical aid portion and then reflect it as "company contributions" .
