Unfair deduction on payslip

Hope this email finds you well. I'm currently working for an Airline company

and i have company cellphone which i pay for when i make calls. My problem

started in September when i received my upgrade from a Blackberry Torch to

another Blackberry Q5 cellphone. When the company procurement administrator

handed over the new cell phone he never advised there were any changes to the

contract that BIS and BIZ will no-longer be available it will work on data

bundles.

In December last year i was advised by the administrator at work that i owe

R12500 for data calls when i queried the bill with him he advised its for the

internet and the internet i only use to access my work email, whatsup and BBM

which is a cheap way of communicating with other staff members. When i queried

this with him he also advised me he did not know why i had a bill that amount

as i was paying for BIS meaning i have unlimited airtime which they deduct

each month from my payslip for BIS which is still being deducted.

When i queried with MTN i was advised that the administrator at work loaded

the cellphone on the wrong profile of BIS and it should have been registered

as as a data bundle where i would receive 350MB a month for free which i'm not

receiving as my contract is loaded wrong instead i am  being charged every time

i access the internet.I sent an email to the administrator to advise him what

MTN had said n still today i still haven't received feedback.I then sent

another email to him in Jan 2014 and included my boss on the same email and

i'm still waiting for feedback.I was advised by payroll on 20 Feb that an

amount of R4143.24 will be deducted from my salary for over a period of three

months when i queried who gave consent about the deduction i was advised my

boss gave authority for the deduction after i stated that i need clarity on

why i should be paying for some one else's error.needless to say my salary was

paid less the R4143.24 and still to date i'm registered as a BIS subscriber and

not as a data bundles with MTN meaning the administrator hasn't fixed the error

as yet.

I need to find out what are my rights as an employee when it comes to such

cases as my employer is telling me they will refund the R60.00 i was paying

for BIS which i feel its not a fair process. Also do they have a right to

deduct any amount from my salary without my consent even though they know i'm

disputing the bill and they still haven't giving me feedback since December ?

Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Deductions from salary may only be in terms of a written agreement
