I have the exact same question. It is the 21st of October and I still have not been paid salary. Every month it has been getting later and later and I can't seem to do anything about it. There must be some sort of action that can be taken against these employers who don't pay their staff salaries at the end of the month. What can we do?

Underpayment or non-payment can be referred to the Department of Labour, who will send a labour inspector. The labour inspector will then attempt to persuade your employer to pay your salaries in terms of your contract. Failing this, the inspector can issue a compliance order, which can be made an order of the Labour Court if the employer still fails to pay you.
