Good day

I have a querie on the following:

A friend of mine works for a locksmith company.  He is a locksmith at that company now for 5 years.  The last time he was off sick was before 2010.

He broke his big toe and cracked his bunyan (the bone next to his toe) he is now in plaster of paris and cant drive.

He receives a salary and work on commission as well.

He went back to work with his plastered foot this morning and the company took his company phone sim card and told him to go home for the 5 1/2 weeks remaining.

He is worried about the following;

His commission on the last job he needs to get.

He did the quote, spend lots of hours on it, he went to the customer numerously times and the customer send the order trough two weeks ago.  Before his foot got hurt.

He just need to complete the job cause of him not driving and booked off for 6 weeks, he cannot do this, the company will send another employee to do so.

He went to continue his job this morning as long as someone can drive him around and the company send him home again.

Are they to send him home if he feels he could be of help completing his jobs still.

He does not want to sit at home but now they send him to do so and are they allowed to deduct this commission that he cannot do the work due to his accident?

Is he allowed to go out (he can still walk on a crutch) to dinner / movies or is he stuck in the bed for 6 weeks?

Please assist us

The company could get into trouble for allowing an injured employee to carry on working, They will always err in the side of caution.
