SALARY DEDUCTION AFTER TRANSFER
Permalink

Good day,

I just want to enquire regarding transfers that may take place within a specific organisation. When an employee within the organisation applies for a internal vacany and is accepts the transfer with an increase in remuneration. The transfer takes place from one branch to another. The employee in question would like to go back to the previous branch.  Is the previous employer/ divisional manager  allowed to decrease the employee's remuneration? And what is the employee's rights?

An employer may only reduce an employees salary after proper consultation and with there being a valid financial reason for doing so. They also may reduce the salary as a dsiciplinary measure but only after follwoing fair procedure and the misconduct being valid.
