I'm amazed mostly at the great length employers would go to make life unbearable...

My core function is nursing, it's what i trained to do, its what i chose to do, it's what i want to do.

Im in a second in charge position, no unit manager on site. Private day hospital setup, satelite hospital from a bigger hospital a few km's away, where all the managers sit who never come to our facility to support or help or do their job.

Besides that i do ten people's work, like most employees in this world. They have this expectation now that patient services is now also my responsibility. Can I object? Even if they send me for training? Can I refuse to go for training?

The patient services managerĀ  doesnt want to take responsibility for her staff member at this day hospital, and wants to pin everything on me. She says im the manager there ( can't get it into her head that im only second in charge)...so i must make sure his work gets done even though i have absolutely no insight or knowledge or interest in patient services. I was never employed to perform that function, now they want to bully me into it.

When you refuse the response is...how can you in a leadership position refuse...???

What am i to do? Are they reasonable? My nursing functions are to much as it is, nvm take on a complete different department???

An employee may not unilateraly change the terms and conditions of your employment without there being a valid financial reason for doing so and after proper consultation with you.
