I am currently empployed at a Medical Adminstrator in Johannesburg, working as a Specialist, doing high level queries and complaints from members, servcie providersa nd also Scheme complaints and complaints that are received from the Council of medical Schemes. In October 2011- me and 4 team members were informed that our functionality will be moving to Cape town, as the Fund manager is based there, and we were informed the reason for the move is the quality of our work. There was no prior consultation with the team. In this meeting, the HR rep informed us of our options, which were applying for availble positions, demotion,relocation or retrenchment.
We have since been prejudiced, e.g. taken off internal mailing lists, excluded from internal training and meetings.
Two team members have opted for positions on a lower grade, and the reamiomng 3 of us have to cope with the extra work load.
The remaining 3 team members have subsequently had interviews for team leader positions. We have still had no feedback regarding this.
We are still expected to perform in this current function,and yet our future's are so uncertain.
