only a medical certificate from a medical practitioner will suffice.

so there really isn't anything that you can do this regard. However, every employee is entitled to 1 days paid sick leave per month without providing a medical cerificate, so maybe mention this to your employer..obviously fi you are off sick alot and have exhausted yuor sick leave, your employer is well within their right to deduct this off yuor wage, ie. unpaid leave.
